The presentation of payment methods has changed

Due to the new Consumer Protection Act, we have made changes to the list of payment methods on the vr.fi website and in the VR Matkalla app.

Amended on 1 October 2023, the new Consumer Protection Act stipulates that the credit option must be presented last in the list of payment methods. This means that the list of payment methods in the vr.fi shows internet banking listed first, followed by payment card.

The VR Matkalla app displays first the commuter benefit payment methods, then internet banking, credit card, MobilePay and Siirto.

The most recent payment method used by the customer will also no longer be automatically saved as the default method. However, you can save your default payment method in the VR Matkalla app under Profile -> Purchases -> Payment methods. This allows you to save your favourite payment methods. The default payment method can also be saved already on the checkout page.

Hopefully the reform will make it more convenient to buy train tickets!
